1 Big Mistake I Made When I Was First Getting Started Creating Content

Like most beginners, I made many mistakes when I started working on Content Creation.

But this was the biggest one by far:

Not having a niche.

Here’s what happened:

I wasn’t clear about what specific problem within a specific group of people I was helping solve. I only had the generals.

Therefore people whose problems I was trying to help solve could not consistently see reflected in my content or feel like I was talking to them because it was too broad. And to be honest, there are tons of content like that already, so it didn’t help me stand out or make my content valuable and engaging.

But it’s also worth acknowledging that making this mistake taught me a ton.

It helped me narrow my content and specify who I am writing for. This way, it is easier for those struggling with what I am writing about to see themselves represented in my writing, engaging and slowly growing into a small community.

This is why I encourage everyone to see their mistakes (and “failures”) as necessary steps along the path.

There is always a lesson to be learned.
