There are not a lot of podcasts on the science of empathy.
And honestly, I’ve tried listening to most of them.
But the one I keep coming back to is “The Science of Empathy” with Peggy Mason — Big Brains Podcast.
If you are new to this subject, I urge you to listen to the best 22 minutes on the science of empathy.
Reason #1: Understanding why we help others
As mammals, we are highly motivated to help others with their distress. And it feels good 😊
Reason #2: Understanding why we do not help others
One of the best explanations of the bystander effect. Making an emphasis on why all bystanders are not the same.
Reason #3: Diversity for the win
The importance of diversifying our environment for better development of empathy. We have been focused on identifying stronger with those things we constantly feel a part of, therefore being biased towards others’ perspectives.
As a beginner, I promise — this is one of the most helpful resources on the Internet and just one of many more she has!
