There are a lot of things most people don’t know about being a digital nomad.

For example, did you know…

  • Travelling light is not an option.
  • Budgeting gets hard.
  • Timezones can be tricky.

For anyone in the digital nomad path, this stuff is common knowledge.

But to those who haven’t lived “a day in the life” as digital nomads, some of these might come as a shock.

For example, here’s the weirdest thing most people don’t know about it:

Keeping up a routine can be a luxury

And, of course, it depends on what type of digital nomad you are and your possibilities, but most digital nomads who change cities at least once a month struggle with maintaining simple routines such as nutrition, exercise and meditation. This has to do with having to deal with unexpected situations all the time, especially if you are moving to a new place you have never been to before! You can end up in bad accommodation (not like the pictures!), get sick (because of food or changing temperatures) or get stuck in an airport more than you had planned due to a delayed flight.

Luckily, most of the time it is absolutely worth it, and the more you travel, the better you become at coping with it.

So, if you are a fellow digital nomad, come to say hi and get a virtual hug!
